Guarantee:

All of our cricket bats are guaranteed against premature breakage in the course of reasonable use and care for a period of one cricket season from the time of purchase. Should you experience any problems at all please let us know so that we can suggest an appropriate course of action. We always try to be very helpful and arrive at a fair decision.

Our Cricket Bat Guarantee and Warranty:

We at UST Cricket are proud of the quality of all our bats and will always replace or repair bats (in the warranty period – First Season) that have genuine faults in materials or workmanship.

Please note that manufacturers keep changing the shape, look and feel of their products every now and then to use the best technology and get the best performance. So there is a slight chance that the product that you receive does not match the exact picture shown on the website. We can not guarantee that you will get exactly what you see on our website, but we do guarantee that all our products are 100% genuine and directly sourced from the brand manufacturers.

We offer a fair usage warranty for one season with all of our bats, apart from those that are subjected to the optional secondary drying process. This warranty covers all repairs required that are caused as a result of the reasonable use of UST Cricket bat. Reasonable use involves, and is limited to, using the “AB Sports” bat(s) to hit balls specifically designed for use in the sport of cricket.

It is important to note that during the course of a bat’s life, most damage is not due to a faulty bat but simply the nature of the impacts and forces involved in the game, especially during mishit and mistimed shots which are the fault of the batsman and NOT the bat. NO manufacturer will give a guarantee against damage or breakage of a cricket bat. Bats break in various ways and for a whole variety of reasons and if in our view the bat has broken due to a manufacturing fault (and not by misuse or neglect) and is irreparable, we will endeavour to replace from stock. We are not responsible for damage if our preparation instructions are not followed or the damage is a result of a mishit shot (an edge or blow on the toe), this is the fault of the batsman and NOT the bat. In these cases, we may be able to help repair the bat but this may be chargeable, please discuss any problems with us first.

Genuine faults; we’ll always repair, where possible, or replace, where necessary and as quickly as possible. The price of the bat has no reflection of whether a bat cracks or not, they all crack! It is true that the most expensive bats hit the ball better because they are usually softer. Generally expensive bats are more likely to crack, dent or break than cheaper bats. It has been seen that too many people are far too quick to blame the bat when the fault really lies with the batsman. Bats are designed to hit the ball 12-20cm (5 to 8 inches) up from the bottom (toe) and in the middle of the blade. Failure to do this may result in damage that is not covered by any guarantee or warranty. The edges, toe and shoulders of the bat are necessarily not as thick as the sweet spot and are consequently more prone to damage. Damage caused to these areas (edges, toe and shoulders), whilst obviously not intentional is the responsibility of the customer. A very small percentage of bats sold are liable to crack under the massive stresses which take place when the ball hits the willow. This is why it is very important that you should take care when playing with your bat for the first time, you MUST ensure you have knocked in your bat, especially on the sides and on the bottom. Even if a bat is described as ready-to-play you should take care when using it in its infancy (it is usual for a cricket bat to have many minor cracks in the face.)

Unfortunately, we do receive bats back from customers who have mistreated their bat, and if the manufacturer recognises this, they will return the bat to the customer untouched. If a bat is returned to us and the manufacturer agrees there is a fault with the bat, they will then either fix or replace the damaged bat. Returns can take up to 4 weeks to repair or replace. If you do feel your bat has cracked or split and that there is a flaw with the willow, please return it to us with a note explaining what happened. If the bat is over 12 months old, you will have little or no case for replacement. Our aim is to provide quality equipment at an affordable price with a sleek process to enhance your enjoyment. A bat with a genuine fault will be replaced at the manufacturer’s discretion.

UST Cricket reserve the right to renege on this warranty if they believe that the bat has been used in ways not deemed reasonable. UST Cricket also reserve the right to renege on this warranty if labels were removed or chosen not to be applied.

No cash refunds will be offered and the postage costs relating to the returning of bats will be borne by the customer.

As a result of this we offer either an exchange (upon receipt of additional postage) or a refund of all goods purchased through UST Cricket (except cricket bats that have been knocked in or personalised with edging tape or a face fitted), providing they are returned to us in their original packaging and have not been used, within 14 days of delivery and that we have received written notification that a return is required.

Prompt Service/Shipping:

Our goal is to ensure that all of our customers are completely satisfied and so we always try for prompt service and shipping.

Stock orders are usually shipped within a week. By and large, all our bats are custom made, as we offer options of weight, sticker, grip, toe guard etc. to choose from before you place your order. However, heavy customised orders usually take 3-4 weeks turnaround time depending upon the exact requirement as there are multiple options for you to choose from like: Grains, Shape, Handle, Profile thickness, Concaving/Convexing, length of Blade and/or Handle, initials or your name laser printed on back of the bat. Having said that, sometimes this process is a bit quicker depending on the overall demand. If you have any such customised or personalised requirement, please update the note on the checkout page so that we can get in touch and explain you the process and timeline.

Please feel free to stay in contact with us during this time to see how things are going. Shipping is by Royal mail or Private Courier and is traceable to most countries. Dispatch is confirmed via E-mail along with tracking details and confirmation of credit card charge if applicable. If you would like quicker shipping by DHL couriers please ask us for a quote.

Parcel contents are insured against loss when sent in order to minimize the risk to the customer. We have so far had no problems and if any occur we make sure we are covered.

Import Tax & Duties:

For shipments, generally valued over the certain value you may be subjected to import duties/taxes, which are levied upon importation to your country. Additional charges by customs must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. If you are unsure of these, you should contact your local customs office for further information. Customs forms for all international packages list the value of your order’s contents. Generally, this is not a problem as the goods do not attract a high value. However, in case you are presented with any custom or import duty from HRMC (UK) or your local country’s duty officials “UST Cricket” shall not be responsible for any kind of import duties, custom duties, import VAT, Forwarding/Clearance or any kind of local taxes levied on the equipments upon receipt of the shipment. In any such cases, buyers are solely responsible for paying these charges.
